La Panthère Evening Edition, Cartier's iconic panther evening version

In 1987, the fragrance “ La Panthère ” stood out. In 2014, the Cartier house proposed a reinterpretation of this panther in order to breathe a sense of modernity into it. Building on this success, Cartier is unveiling “La Panthère Édition du Soir” at the start of the 2016 academic year. More luxurious and more seductive than its predecessor, “La Panthère Édition du Soir” still refers to the panther, an emblem so dear to the brand.

The eternal icon of Cartier

Since the Roaring Twenties, the panther has been the symbol of the Cartier house and it was not chosen by chance. It turns out that the panther is none other than Jeanne Toussaint, Parisian “casserole” who became Louis Cartier's mistress. Jeanne was nicknamed “The Panther” because her character was fierce and inflexible… But not only! Director of the fine jewelry department, Jeanne Toussaint is at the origin of one of the most magical creations, that of the panther jewel. "Camped on a 152.35-carat cabochon sapphire, coated with a diamond paving speckled with calibrated sapphires, the animal is imbued with ferocity and sensuality". Since then, the Cartier icon has been everywhere. For a new tribute to the panther, or perhaps to Jeanne, “La Panthère Édition du Soir” is intended to be very luxurious and seductive at will.

La Panthère Édition du Soir, a floral accord built around the gardenia

In order to create this very special composition, Cartier called on the talented Mathilde Laurent, one of the most famous perfumers. She is also the one who created “La panthère” in 2014 as well as “La Panthère Légère” in 2015. For “La Panthère Édition du Soir”, Mathilde Laurent wanted to imagine a luxurious, glamorous and ultra-feminine fragrance. With “La Panthère Édition du Soir”, the woman appears under her wildest, most feline side. The composition is both refined and contrasting like a starry night, combining the deep color of a black sky and the golden light of the moon. “La Panthère Édition du Soir” is built around the gardenia, with an important floral accord. The base is sensual and carnal with musks associated with animal notes. On the bottle side, “La panthère Édition du Soir” reappropriates that of its elder. Its geometric silhouette hides the sculpture of a panther's head in its heart. We see that the face of the feline is sculpted directly into the glass. He is topped with a metal headdress with solar reflections and wears an elegant black hat. It then looks like a beautiful starry night ...

Two years after the reinterpretation of “La Panthère”, Cartier unveils “La Panthère Édition du Soir”. If it has nothing to envy its eldest for the feline side, the evening edition is more luxurious and above all more seductive. A new version which expands Cartier's feline range.
